My name is Pastor Matt and I have the privilege of being the Senior Pastor of Faith4Life right in the heart of Metro Dallas. I love this time of being together in 30 days of prayer, as we join with our sister churches not just in this country but all over the world. There is power in united prayer.
Today we are going to focus on a powerful and essential topic - that is how we pray for Christians to have a greater impact in the entertainment industry. We are going to believe for greater doors to open and greater opportunities for Christians to be involved in the decision-making process and in the eyes of others being used in this platform by God to bring other people to Him.
Now, in the entertainment industry, usually communication is done through a microphone. So today we are going to use the acronym MIC. M is motivation. Colossians chapter 3, verse 23 says, “And whatsoever you do, do it heartily [with all your heart, all of your energy, all of your fervor] as to the Lord, and not unto men;” So we are going to be praying for the motivation of those who are in the industry or who are going into the industry that it will be rooted in a desire to glorify God - that it will be rooted in a desire for others to know more about Him.
The next letter is I and that is that we are going to pray for their integrity. Proverbs 11:3 says, “The integrity of the upright shall guide them but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.” The industry itself is full of compromise and there are going to be many opportunities for Christians to compromise their beliefs to get ahead. We are going to be praying for their integrity – that they use their integrity for a purpose. We are going to pray that God gives them strength - that God gives them the ability to resist temptation - that God is going to give them friends with like-mindedness who are going to support their decisions and are going to speak and are going to speak to their integrity.
Number three –C - we are going to be talking about their creativity. We are going to pray that they continue to become more and more creative. God is the ultimate Creator. We also are wonderful creators and we create in many different ways. Here in the entertainment industry, we are believing for these Christians to have new ideas - to have new concepts - that they will have revelation even about how they can be used in the entertainment industry in greater and more creative ways.
So today as we pray for Christians who are in the entertainment industry, and those who are called to go into the entertainment industry, we are going to pray M - for their motivation, I - for their integrity, C- for their created activity – that they are called for such a time as this or such a place as this and for such a purpose of this - all for the glory of God. Let’s pray together.
