Welcome to day 18 of our 30 days of prayer. God has truly been moving and today’s prayer focus isJerusalem. Are you aware that the Word of God talks about Jerusalem some 814 times? That means it is dear to God’s heart and anything that is dear to the Father God’s heart, should be dear to our heart. Let’s take a look here inPsalm 122, in stanza six, and it simply says this,“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.”Now that word peace there means safe, well, favored, happy, completeness and welfare. Now I want to focus on that word welfare. Welfare means to have an exemption from misfortune, sickness, danger and also evil. So God is saying,“Pray this specifically for Jerusalem.”He is saying,“Pray for that it is safe.”It is saying to pray for favor. It saying to pray there is an exemption from misfortune, danger, sickness and evil.
But that verse is not done yet. He gives us some more wisdom. It says, “...they shall prosper that love thee.”That word prosper means to be successful.That means to be people of success. So now it tells us here that they shall prosper that love thee. When we pray, we are actually walking in love, so we qualify for thatScripture. Let’s pray.
