DAY 20 | Pray for Your Health and Finances

Minister Jason Mitchell

WORD OF FAITH | SOUTHFIELD, MI

Hello. My name is Minister Jason Mitchell and I want to welcome you to day 20 of our 30 days of prayer campaign. I am a full-time instructor in the education department in Southfield, Michigan. I have the pleasure of teaching students at the various Pistis Schools of Ministry worldwide. Today we are going to focus on two areas of our lives that get attacked the most: our finances and our health. We are going to the Word of God to see what He has to say because His Word is clear. God wants us to be healthy and to experience a prosperous life.

Let’s prove this out by first turning to third John. We are going to look at verse two and see what Scripture has to say, “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” I want you to notice that God makes notice of two distinct things in this verse. He says, “That thou mayest prosper, succeed, be successful and be in health.” It is clear from the Word of God that He wants us to both prosper and to be healthy. Let’s also turn in our Bibles to the gospel of John chapter 10, verse 10, and let’s see what Jesus says. Jesus says to us, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

Now, what I want you to do is focus on what Jesus said - why He came. He came that we might have zoe - the God kind of life or life as God has it and that we might have the God kind of life more abundantly. First Peter 2:24 tells us that He bore our sicknesses in His own body and with His stripes we are healed. Galatians 3:13-14 tells us, “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ;” Faith begins where the will of God is known.

Now that we have read the Scriptures, we know what God says about our finances and our health. Therefore, we can go before Him in faith. So today let’s make a decision that we are going to agree with what the Word of God says. We are going to agree with first Peter 2:24 that He bore our sins in His own body – that He carried our sicknesses and diseases and with His stripes we are healed. We are going to also agree that we are Abraham’s seed. We are heirs according to the promise and that because of what Jesus did, the blessing of Abraham is ours. The empowerment to prosper is ours. Now let’s pray.
