DAY 26 | Pray For Your Church and Its Members

PASTOR JOHN WARD

WORD OF FAITH | SOUTHFIELD, MI

Praise the Lord. Welcome back to 30 days of prayer. Today we are praying for your church and her members. Let’s read our text found inPsalm 133, and it reads,“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.”Notice that in this place of unity and oneness, he says it is like the dew of Hermon. Mount Hermon was a place that even in the roughest droughts—in the most driest times— you could go up to Mount Hermon and it was covered with dew. In this place of provision, in this place of moisture—this place of sustenance, everything was there, and God is saying that when we are in a place of unity and oneness, it is just like this place where there is continual supply and provision. And it is there where God commands the blessings.

Today, as we pray for the body of Christ, we need to remember that Satan’s strategy is always to bring disunity and disharmony. First Corinthians chapter 1, verse 10, commands us to be of one mind, to be of one accord, to say the same thing, to be of the same judgment—that we are perfectly united together inSpirit—that there are no divisions and no schisms. So throughout our day Satan is looking for members that he can use to plant seeds of discord, thoughts of offense. Jesus even said in Luke 17:1—He said,“It is impossible but that offences will come...”Why do they come? Because Satan is trying to get us in disharmony and disunity to stop the blessing.

So when we pray today, we are believing God to reveal Satan’s strategies and that the love of God would flow so that the body of Christ would flow with one accord. And in this place of unity and oneness, it is like the dew of Hermon and it is a place where God commands the blessing. God bless you as you pray today. Have a wonderful day.
