Pastor Ronald Walker
SENIOR PASTOR | WORD OF FAITH | VIRGIN ISLANDS
Hello. I am Pastor Ronald Walker from Word of Faith, St. Thomas Virgin Islands. Welcome to 30 days of prayer. I know you’re excited about what God is going to do during this time that we set aside to pray. But today I want you to focus on two specific areas. One is found in Psalm 138, - verse 8 reading from the English Standard version and it says, “The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands.” The key word here is purpose. The Hebrew meaning of the word purpose is intention, plan, imagination and thought.
See, in the heart and mind of God, He has specific intentions for your life. His imaginations and the thoughts sees what He wants you to be and He sees what He wants you to do. However, the only way that you are going to find the purpose and intention He has for your life is by going before the Lord in prayer and inquiring of Him. He states in Jeremiah 29, verse 11, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Other translations say to give you a hope and a future. That can only come from the Lord. Verse 12 reads, “Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.” See, when you pray for His purpose for your life, He will hearken unto you – He says here – and reveal His intentions that He has for your life. It is important to get His purpose for our lives – why?
So we don’t waste time because the Bible also says in Proverbs 19:21 - English Standard Version, “Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.” See we all at one time had all kind of plans rolling around in our mind. But like it says here, only the purpose of God will stand. So pray for God’s purpose, God’s intention and God’s plans for your life.
Now the other area that we need to pray about is the workplace. Colossian chapter 3, verse 23, reading from the Amplified Classic, reads, “Whatever may be your task, work at it heartily (from the soul), as [something done] for the Lord and not for men, Knowing [with all certainty] that it is from the Lord [and not from men] that you will receive the inheritance which is your [real] reward. [The One Whom] you are actually serving [is] the Lord Christ (the Messiah).” So we want to pray that your workplace, as well as other’s, is a workplace filled faithfulness and loyalty.
Pray that people understand that when their focus and attention is on doing everything as unto the Lord, and not unto men - guess what - the atmosphere will change. See that atmosphere will change - because why? Because they are no longer looking at men for their promotion and increase, but they will know for certain - it says there - that their rewards are coming from the Lord and when He is pleased, everyone in the workplace is pleased. So have a blessed and victorious day in the Lord.
