DAY 7 | Pray for Your Church

Pastor Ray McClintock

WORD OF FAITH | SOUTHFIELD, MI

Welcome to day seven. I am Pastor Ray McClintock here at the headquarters church in Southfield, Michigan. Each day we will receive from a staff minister from around the world. So let’s get after 30 days of prayer for today. Today our assignment is praying for our churches. My boss, Bishop Butler, always mentions that Christians don’t know their assignment. They are not sure what they are supposed to be doing for God. They don’t know their place in the Kingdom of God. This is from years of the congregation members coming to see him after preaching a message and listening to their questions. Praying for your church is vital to your success in life. Bishop tells us, and you will hear this throughout this devotion - he tells us it matters where you go to church. I remember as a young Christian that if we had to move from one state to another, or one city to another for relocation for work, that it was the counsel that we received that let us know that finding a church was high on the priority list - that finding a church was not just some add-on at the end but of critical importance. That’s because it matters where you go to church. In Hebrews chapter 10, we will look at verse 24 and verse 25, “And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” Here Christians are given a key to success. Go to church and have a prayer life that includes praying for those that you go to church with and fellowship with. So what happens? We go to church. We build relationships with the people. We build relationships with our pastor and fellow helps workers and we pray for them. They become knit together with us. They become a part of our church family. When you become part of the family, you know how it is. You have a work family. You have a home family. You might have a hostess family, a bowling family. It’s easy to stay in the family if you stay in the relationship. Whatever group is close to you, it is possible for them to become a part of your family if you stay close in fellowship. Having a prayer life for your church is critical. When you pray for your church, you can select Kidz World, Outreach, youth, couples, singles. The list goes on and on. But what is most important to remember is it matters where you go to church. God bless you all and it’s Pastor McClintock.
