Hi. My name is Evangelist Kate Stramler and I am a staff minister here at the Southfield location. Welcome to our ninth day of our 30 days of prayer campaign. Today we are going to be praying for our loved ones who are caught up in false religions or the occult. By definition, a false religion is the worship of anything that is not God or any form of religion that fails to do justice to the glory and the majesty of God. So, in a nutshell, if Jesus is not the head of it, it is considered a false religion or an occult. In Proverbs 18:21, it tells us that death and life are in the power of the tongue and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. Luke 10:19 it tells us that the body of Christ has been given power to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy and nothing by any means shall hurt us. This power is activated by the words of our mouth. Hebrew 4:12 says, “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Then we always have Matthew 18:18 that we can use - the Scripture a binding and loosing. It says, “Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” It says, “That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.” Now we need to put on the whole armor of God. That’s Ephesians chapter 6 that says, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” And so, what we are going to do is use the Word of God to defeat the enemy and beat him at his own game. So what you are going to do - if you have a loved one caught in the occult, you are going to say something like, “Father in the name of Jesus, we bind the spiritual demonic forces that are driving John in the name of Jesus. Father we pray that the eyes of his understanding continue to be enlightened. We ask that you send spiritual laborers across his path that can minister to him in a way that he can receive it.” – And on and on and on and on like that. Remember, folks, God has not given us the spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound, well-balanced, self-controlled disciplined mind. This is sister Kate signing off.
